Members of the Regional Management and Coordinating Committee-7 agreed during the special meeting today to pool and deploy some of their technical personnel to man and supervise the committee’s adopted vaccination site of the Cebu City Government.
During the virtual meeting, representatives and officials from Police Regional Office-7, Bureau of Fire Protection-7, National Commission on Muslim Filipinos-7, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-7, and National Youth Commission Visayas committed to deploy medical personnel and volunteers as encoders at the city’s vaccination site.
DILG-7 Director Leocadio Trovela, who sits as chairman of RMCC-7, thanked the agencies for their contribution to the implementation of the vaccination program of the government. Cebu City Health Department Officer-in-Charge Dr. Jeffrey Ibones, who attended the virtual meeting, expressed his gratitude to the RMCC-7 for its favorable action on the city’s request.
Also discussed in the meeting were the updates and measures of the government against the dreadful Delta variant. This was discussed by representatives from the Department of Health-7, Dr. Mary Jean Loreche and Dr. Eugenia Mercedes Cañal.To dispel rumors, the doctors clarified that the variant has not been detected in Central Visayas as of now.
However, they recommended the strict implementation of the minimum public health standards.
DILG-7 also presented the Advisory dated July 23, 2021 issued by Secretary Eduardo Año who directed the PNP and LGUs to ensure alignment of border entry protocols and protocols for Returning Overseas Filipinos with the guidelines of IATF and other government offices.
In the Advisory, the Secretary also reminded LGUs to strictly implement the Prevention, Detection, Isolation, Treatment, and Reintegration strategy. The RMCC-7 passed two resolutions such as: supporting the Advisory of Secretary Año and urging the LGUS to strictly implement the minimum public health standards especially the monitoring of mass gatherings, among others; and adopting the vaccination program of the Cebu City Government and approving the request of the city for the augmentation of technical personnel in the vaccination site.
The committee also expressed its support to the conduct of trainings for Barangay Public Safety Officers in Cebu City and the conduct of series of town hall meetings on COVID-19 Vaccination Deployment Plan by the DILG-7, DOH-7 and Philippine Information Agency-7.
The RMCC-7 special meeting was also attended by all city and provincial directors of DILG-7, and technical staff from the LGMED-7 headed by Atty. Ian Kenneth Lucero.
