Twelve lupons in Central Visayas were evaluated during the Lupong Tagapamaya Incentive Awards (LTIA) onsite validation by the Regional Awards Committee (RAC) on April 11 to 30, 2024.
The RAC, composed of the DILG-7, Department of Justice-7, Police Regional Office-7, Regional Trial Court Branch 74, Liga ng mga Barangay Region 7 Chapter and the University of San Jose-Recoletos, assessed the lupons of Barangay Cansibao, Valencia and Barangay Taloto, Tagbilaran City in Bohol on April 11, 2024, and Barangay Tag-ibo, San Juan in Siquijor on April 16, 2024.
Meanwhile, the committee assessed the lupons of Barangay San Miguel, Bacong, Barangay Villareal, Bayawan and Barangay South Poblacion, La Libertad, all in Negros Oriental, on April 17-18, 2024.
In Cebu Province, lupons of Barangay Ibabaw, Cordova, Barangay Gairan, Bogo City, and Barangay Villahermosa, Tudela were also assessed by the RAC on April 23-25, 2024.
For the HUCs, the RAC likewise validated the lupons of Barangay Sta. Rosa, Lapu-Lapu City, Barangay Budlaan, Cebu City and Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City on April 23 and 30, 2024.
The committee evaluated the lupons’ efficiency in operation, effectiveness in securing the settlement of interpersonal dispute objective of Katarungang Pambarangay (KP), creativity and resourcefulness, area or facility for KP activities, and financial or non-financial support received from local and national government and NGOs or private sectors.
The winners of the regional validation will be the region’s entry in the prestigious national award.
