DILG Cebu Provincial Director Atty. Ian Kenneth Lucero led the turnover of the Level III Water System project in Barangay Balidbid, Santa Fe today, July 7.
Mayor Ithamar Espinosa, Vice-Mayor Mary Greleigh Cabrera, Sanggunian Bayan members, and barangay officials took part in the turnover of the P4 million project which will cater to over 400 households of the said barangay.
The rehabilitation/improvement of the water system is funded under the 2020 Assistance to Municipalities of the DILG.In his speech, Espinosa expressed his gratitude to the Department for pouring projects to the municipality, stressing that they need help from the national government in addressing the needs of the people, especially with the limited funds of the LGU.
Lucero, for his part, lauded the municipality for completing the project and assured that the DILG Cebu Province will support the municipality in all its endeavors. He added that the Department allocated and funded over P85.7 million worth of projects in the Municipality of Santa Fe, including the construction/repair of evacuation centers, water system, road projects, rehabilitation of multipurpose building and barangay hall, among others.
On top of that, Lucero said there is an ongoing P3.38 million construction of evacuation center project in the municipality, and the upcoming P10 million worth of project including the streetlighting, multipurpose building and improvement of public market projects in the municipality under the 2022 Financial Assistance to Local Government Unit. Also present were Santa Fe MLGOO Easter-April Quirol, incoming Madridejos OIC-MLGOO John Michael Legaspi, LGOO II Janieva Dandan, and LGOO II Jean Marvette Demecillo.
