Members of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC)-7 convened during the 1st quarterly meeting for 2023 on March 30 at Golden Prince Hotel & Suites.
The meeting was presided by RPOC Vice Chairperson and PRO-7 Director PBGEN Anthony Aberin. He was assisted by RPOC Member/Secretariat Head and DILG-7 Director Leocadio Trovela and COL Joey Escanillas, PA of Joint Task Group Cebu representing RPOC-7 Co-Vice Chairperson and Philippine Army 3rd Infantry Division Commander MGEN Marion Sison, PA.
Among the agenda discussed were the Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA) proposed follow-through activities for this year and Bayanihan ng Mamamayan rollout on April 22, 2023; peace and order situation; update on Negros Oriental situation; anti-insurgency and counter-terrorism situation; monthly monitoring report on crime status; status of appointment of RPOC Chair; and call for nomination of CSOs/private sector representatives interested to be appointed members of the RPOC.
The Council passed six resolutions including the reorganization of the RPOC and Secretariat; creation of RPOC Special Action Committees; schedule of quarterly meetings; designation and location of Regional Internal Security Operations (ISO) Coordinating Center; and RPOC Internal Rules of Procedure.
Present were Cebu City POC Chairperson, Mayor Michael Rama; Bais City POC Chairperson, Mayor Luigi Marcel Goñi; Canlaon City POC Chairperson, Mayor Jose Chubasco Cardenas; regional directors of national government agencies and offices; and representatives of other Council members.
