Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. applauded the resilience of the Cebuanos amidst the devastation of Typhoon Odette last year.
Interior Secretary addressed this to the crowd during the releasing of financial assistance to Typhoon Odette victims on Friday morning, November 18, 2022, at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu. 1,000 benefeciaries from Lapu-Lapu City each received P10,000 cash assistance thru the Emergency Housing Assistance Program of the National Housing Authority (NHA).
Present during the releasing in Lapu-Lapu City were DILG-7 Director Leocadio Trovela, NHA General Manager Joeben Tai, NHA-7 Regional Manager Hermes Juntillo, Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan, Congresswoman Cindi Chan, City Councilors Annabeth Cuizon and Emilio Galaroza, PCol Elmer Lim, and FSInsp. Anyl Capatoy. Later this afternoon, SILG visits southern Cebu for the 500 beneficiaries in Carcar City and another 500 beneficiaries in City of Naga.
