The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Negros Oriental will soon have a new office.
This after the groundbreaking ceremony of the proposed two-story Provincial Office worth P7 million located at the Cervantes Street, Poblacion 7 in Dumaguete City last July 6, 2021.
Regional Director Leocadio Trovela led the groundbreaking rites together with Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo, Dumaguete City Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Dumaguete City Vice-Mayor Karissa Tolentino-Maxino, and DILG Negros Oriental Provincial Director Farah Diba Gentuya.
Also present were former Bais City mayors Karen and Hector Villanueva, NOPPO Provincial Director PCol Glenn Mayam, and Dumaguete City Chief of Police PLtCol Joeson Parallag. Trovela said in his message that the new home of DILG Negros Oriental is finally coming true.
The building is requested by the DILG from the Department of Budget and Management. The project is under a Usufruct Agreement with LGU Dumaguete City through Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo.
In his message, Governor Roel Degamo has pledged P5 million additional funding as support of the Provincial Government to DILG Negros Oriental.
